In January we will be sketching at the Barbican Centre
The Barbican Centre is one of London’s most iconic landmarks. Its Brutalist architecture, with its towering concrete structures and geometric shapes, has been inspiring artists for decades.
Calling all London sketchers! Our January adventure takes us to the mighty Barbican! Join us for a morning of capturing its brutalist beauty on Saturday, 20th January.
Here’s the plan:
- 11 AM: Meet outside Barbican Kitchen Cafe, in front of the Arts and Theatre Centre. Unleash your inner Brutalist! Explore the Barbican’s hidden alleys, towering structures, and geometric delights.
- 1 PM Throwdown time – same location – outside Barbican Kitchen Cafe! Share your morning’s masterpieces, swap tips, and bask in the collective sketching vibes, and get ready for round two! Dive back into the Barbican or venture further into Smithfield for more sketching goodness.
- 3.30 PM Second throwdown – the same location outside Barbican Kitchen Cafe for the final throwdown and group photo at the end of the sketching day.
- 3.30 PM – onwards: For those who would like to chat – and draw – for longer, we will go to the Theatre bar, located on Level G, which is the perfect setting to continue sharing our passion for sketching.
