November 2024 – Young V&A / Bethnal Green

Young V&A Interior – by Isabel Carmona

Saturday 09 November 2024 – 11:00 – 15:30

Hosted by: Dean Ashton and Sasala Wickramasinghe

In November we head east to Bethnal Green and visit the Young V&A (formerly the V&A Museum of Childhood).

The mission of the museum is stated as “To enable everyone, especially the young, to explore and enjoy the designed world, in particular objects made for and made by children.” It has extensive collections of toys, childhood equipment and costumes.

Bethnal Green was recently described on Trip Advisor as: “It’s a bit ‘up-and-coming’ and scruffy around the edges still.”. Explore the blend of Victorian Architecture, hidden among the greenery of Bethnal Green Gardens and Museum Park.

Key times and meeting points for the day:

11 am: If its dry, we’ll meet outside the Young V&A museum. (Cambridge Heath Rd, Bethnal Green, London E2 9PA)
